At Rogue Valley, wine is the culmination of an art form and a reflection of our place in nature. We believe that great wine is born from a deep respect for the land, and because we are committed to sustainable growing methods, we produce limited quantities of premium, handcrafted wines.

Our 2019 Cabenet Franc is a gold standard of our wines. Drink now or hold; we believe it will cellar elegantly for at least a decade.

Winemaking

Handpicked fruit was destemmed and carefully fermented in small lots and gently pressed at
dryness. The wine was aged eighteen months in mixed French cooperage before being blended
and bottled without fining or filtration.

Vintage Notes

2019 began with a warm, wet spring and bud break commenced on schedule in April. A cool
spell of weather in June around bloom naturally modulated fruit set, lowering yields. The late
spring and summer were warmer than average but lacked notable heat spikes, allowing for
steady vine growth and development during the growing season through véraison, which took
place in mid-August. A cooling trend starting in early September slowed ripening at the final
moments, allowing for additional hang time and flavor development while keeping the fruit in
perfect balance until harvest in mid-October. The 2019 wines are marked by vibrant fruit
flavors, ageworthy structure, and food-friendly acidity

Tasting Notes

Oregon's Rogue Valley is ripe for the reinterpretation of Bordeaux varietals, and this Cabernet
Franc is true to both its heritage and the wild terroir of the Southern Cascades. The wine opens
with vivid aromatics of mountain huckleberry and sassafras. On the palate, evocative flavors of
cherry conserva and sweet earth are wrapped in fine riverstone tannins and punctuated by
notes of baking spices. The finish is rich and long, leaving behind terroir-driven notes of incense
cedar and white sage. Drink now or hold; we believe it will cellar elegantly for at least a decade.
